There will be a group stage with (1) match per week, with the top teams advancing to a single elimination playoff bracket (size based on final registration numbers). The match format will be largely the same as the one-day tournaments from the Fall, however, after taking feedback from participating teams, the group stage matches will expand to Best-of-Five.
For full format and settings information, please see the RULES PAGE; be aware that the rules may be changed slightly before registration ends.
*UPDATE* Due to popular demand, cross platform with PS4 will be allowed; for more information, please email us at [email protected] for more informaion!
This NEWS POST has a guide to what you can expect on a typical match day, we will also cover the basic overview of a weekly match day below:
As a note, participants can reschedule their matches to another day/time if both sides come to an agreement, however you should expect to leave Saturdays at 12pm PST open by default. Any unreported matches by the end of the regular season will be counted as forfeit losses for both sides and any playoff matches not reported by the end of that weekend will also be forfeited.
The prize pool will be $10,000 distributed as follows:
This is a free-to-play tournament. That's right, there is no registration fee! Registration is open to all North American (US and Canada) colleges and univeresities from now through end of day Jan 6th.
Participants must be full-time status students in good standing at the start of the season (Winter quarter/Spring semester) with a few exceptions; players who graduated at the end of the Fall are not eligible. For full eligibility rules, see the RULES PAGE for information, and for other rules and restrictions.
Once your CSL player accounts and the team are setup, the coordinator will be able to enroll the team in the season on the team page; once the team is enrolled you will receive a confirmation in the form of a big green check mark on your team page. For a sample of what this process looks like, please see THIS ALBUM.
Note that just registering your user account and creating a team is not enough; you must actively select to enroll on your team page to be actually registered to compete! If you do not enroll properly on your team page, you will NOT be included in the registered teams list and will therefore be left out when the groups are launched.
